Official cover reveal: “Breathe Into Me”

Those of you on social media might have noticed that I’ve been super bouncy all day long. Well, that’s because, after several weeks of keeping it bottled inside, I’m FINALLY able to present the cover to my upcoming New Adult novel (yes lol, it’s a full novel and NOT a serial – even has a HEA!):

Putting the *ugh* in “rough”

Greetings from the pits of deadline hell! It’s funny, every book is a different experience. I wish I had a formula or “cheat” for writing each book, but alas, each one is different.

Take, for example, the first “Anything He Wants” novel. It was released in serials online, each ranging from 8k-20k words, and was fairly easy to write (despite the sudden popularity, which was stressful for an introvert like me). I had a similarly nice and easy path with “Castaway” – there was a rough patch in the middle where I doubted myself and developed a mad case of burnout that lasted three months – but for the most part the story flowed.

And yet we get to my current work, and suddenly I’m realizing the UGH in “rough draft”. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember, and I don’t remember a book that’s harder to finish, one that just won’t cooperate. Some books, however, don’t truly come alive until the editing phase. The key is to FINISH, to get to The End, and then you can go make it pretty.

…is it masochistic of me to say I’m eager to dive into this one? 😉

*~*

The gorgeous ladies of S&M Book Obsessions have revealed the cover for the “Unraveled” anthology and it’s SO PRETTY!! My submission to the book is kind of an epilogue to “Castaway”, one last part to the “Anything He Wants” series. Does this mean I don’t intend to continue it? Well, I can’t say that because there are still ideas swirling around my head on how to continue the story, but it does give some closure to a few bits (as evidenced by the Snippet Saturday post I did a week ago). 🙂 Lots more things coming in the future, but for now I’m wrapped up in deadlines, which means I’m stressed, which means I tend to go all ultra-mega-introverted and forget that, hey, there’s a larger world out there!

So if I seem to be ignoring you, PRETTY please don’t take it personally! *hugs*

Crunch time is upon us!! Let me know which cover you like and whichever one has the most votes by Saturday night wins!! 😉

No Snippet Saturday today, but…

This week has been full of many non-writerly things, so I apologize for not having new material to show off in that respect. May I, however, introduce the cover for the next AHW serial, Anything He Wants 6: Castaway!! 😛

I’m pretty pleased with the final result, courtesy of Cover Magic. While its a slight change from the previous covers, I grew a little tired of seeing the same stock images on other books and wanted a cover that told a story. 😀

Thoughts? Comments? Hate it, love it? 😉

EDITED TO ADD: Hmm, not much excitement about the cover. Glad I gave myself enough time to go back to the drawing board if necessary, thanks for all the tips and thoughts!! 😀

Just a quick note

This weekend has been busy between writing, life, angsting over what to do about some opportunities I’ve been given and gearing up for AHW4’s release this week, but I thought I’d address a few topics I’ve seen in comments. I DO read all the comments, although I’m horrid lately about replying, and I’ve seen a pattern so hopefully I can answer questions in this post:

– regarding “Back In The Groove”: Yes, it was meant to be a series and is definitely meant to go on. I decided to focus my energy on the “Anything He Wants” series however due to its insane popularity; for those BITG fans out there believe me, I’ve got much more to tell about James and Alice (like what he did in the Army, he’s not just a surfer dude!) but the story’s been put on hold for the moment until at least AHW5 is released.

– the AHW mirrors I promised: I’ve given priority, again, to finishing the original series first, THEN I definitely will be releasing the mirrors. So far I have AHW1 from Jeremiah’s POV and to finish Loki’s story/POV from AHW3, with more planned (at least in my mind; it’s crazy the amount of stuff going on in the background of this series, and I figure you guys would love to see what’s happening).

– Yesterday I received the gorgeous final cover from A.D. Cooper for AHW4 and, HEE, it’s pretteh!!!

I thought it catches the mood of the story perfectly, although perhaps not as shmexy as the first covers. What do you think, thoughts?

Any other pressing questions? If I promise to answer any and every comment on this post, will you guys go easy on me? (and yes, that’s a promise not merely a rhetorical question 😉 )
